Town Centre Garden

An enclosed garden for a modern house with an unusual footprint. The brief was to bring the rear garden up to scratch to complement the existing terrace, retain favourite mature plants and provide a route to the garden games room.

The design provides a relaxing outlook from the terrace with a hidden fire pit area to encourage movement around the garden. The smart oval shape leads the eye around the garden away from the perimeter and neighbours, creating a private oasis to relax in as a retreat from a busy lifestyle. The planting has a limited colour palette to provide year-round interest without being fussy.

The lawn has a built-in automatic watering system and I put the client in touch with a local garden maintenance team who come on an ad hoc basis when required.

Previously the clients felt frustrated that the garden wasn’t optimised and didn’t meet the quality of the house. After completion she said how pleased she was and that it finally matched the house:
